Lady Gaga says Metallica at the top of their game

Like it or not, Metallica will be playing with Lady Gaga at the Grammys this Sunday. And if you were to guess how the idea for the collaboration came about, you’d probably be right. It was basically a gathering of superstars, with Gaga and Metallica’s Lars Ulrich meeting at actor Bradley Cooper’s house. Yeah, that sounds about right. She revealed this during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1, where she also gave her opinion of the band’s live show:

“I’ve gotta tell you something: I went to see them live. I mean, I’ve seen them a couple of times live, but I saw them live recently, and we were watching the show and I’ll tell you something, those guys play better than they’ve ever played in their whole lives.”

Okay, that’s hyperbole right there. She maybe should’ve said that they played better than she’s ever seen them in her life, because they’d already released their first two albums before she was born, and Cliff Burton died when she was only six months old. Regardless, it’s cool a bunch of multi-millionaires can sit around and shoot the shit, and the two acts pairing up makes a lot more sense than making a double-album with Lou Reed. You can check out the whole interview below.
