Last week, Behemoth’s Adam “Nergal” Darski posted a (since deleted) picture of himself and another gentleman with the caption “If you have ghosts… U have everything,” suggesting that it was a picture of Ghost’s frontman, Papa Emeritus II, without makeup. While it’s suggested that Swedish musician Tobias Forge may be the identity behind Papa, this is as close to an unmasking as there’s been. In an interview at the Sonisphere festival with Jagermeister this past weekend, one of the Nameless Ghouls in the band mentioned that they’re aware that their identities might not remain secret forever, but they’re going to keep performing as Ghost regardless:

I mean, it’s… We don’t really know what to say about that except for we keep our identities as secret as we possibly can, of course, but at some point it’s bound to happen, some things that are not really optimal for us, of course. But the identity part is always gonna be, for as long as can take it, it’s gonna be a hassle in many ways, and I think we have managed to keep it below the radar, for the most part, at least… We’re not ever gonna do it without the church and without the clothes and without the robes, because that wouldn’t be Ghost anymore – that would be something else, and that’s not what we’re here to do.

In the interview, the Ghoul also reveals that they’re pretty far along with the ideas and planning for their next album. He states they’re through with the concept of the album, and the songs, and the imagery and stage plots are “basically finished.”
