There are so many festivals happening that to make one stand out, you really need to do something to differentiate it from the rest. The New York Times just wrote about that, stating they’re not going to Coachella or Bonnaroo any more because of the overall sameness of the the artists playing all those festivals and many others, and stating that it’s more lifestyle-oriented than music-oriented. Someone must have told the Wrecking Ball festival in Atlanta that, as they’ve just announced their 2016 lineup, which will make many a 2000-era emo, punk and hardcore kid happy. First and foremost, the August 13 and 14 festival will include the return of Thursday. It’ll also be headlined by Quicksand and L7. Deafheaven is the heaviest band on the bill, but bands including Trapped Under Ice, Gorilla Biscuits, and Touche Amore will also be playing. Thursday isn’t the only band reuniting, as Piebald, Hey Mercedes, The Promise Ring, Milemarker and Rainier Maria will also be playing reunion shows at the festival, which will take place on five stages. Here’s the full lineup for the festival, which you’ll be able to pick up via the festival’s website on April 1.
