A few weeks ago Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine told Billboard that the band will embark two North American tours this year.
He explained:
“They’re both going to be very different, but exciting. One we’re headlining, and it’s very much bands of our ilk, and for the other one, we’re in a support position for the first time in years. It’s a band that I’m a huge fan of. We’re really excited to see what these different dates are going to be like and have fans see us in different capacities. The headlining dates will be these diehard fans, and the others where we’re going to be out with this band we’re supporting, and their fans are going to hear us and won’t know us from the man on the moon.”
According to Theprp.com, Megadeth’s headlining run could include Meshuggah, TesseracT, and Lillake. We do not know the dates or any details about this run. However, they report that three of the aforementioned bands are scheduled to appear at this year’s Montebello Rockfest’ in Montebello, QC, running from June 22-25th.
Hearing the possibility of Megadeth joining forces with Meshuggah has us excited as it is, and hopefully we will discover the truth to these rumors soon enough.Between Dirk Verbeuren and Tomas Haake, there could well be some amazing drumming happening on that tour!
