It’s December, which means that the Summer tour schedules are starting to slip out. The latest to announce their lineup is annual festival Rock on the Range, which will be taking place on May 15th, 16th and 17th of next year. The active rock festival has some pretty solid actual metal bands playing alongside the bands that you hear constantly on your local terrestrial rock station. Linkin Park, Slipknot and Judas Priest are headlining the ninth iteration of the festival.
One of the more surprising additions to the festival are Babymetal, who have only played a handful of American shows so far. Ministry, who jsut recently announced they’d be touring next year, is another interesting get for the fest. Anthrax, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Beartooth, Saxon, Unlocking the Truth, In Flames, Upon a Burning Body and The Devil Wears Prada are among some of the other notable bands playing the fest. ROTR has sold out in advance the last two years, which at 40,000 people each day, is pretty impressive. Pre-sale tickets are on sale now, with a code available by going to the festival’s Facebook page. Tickets will be on sale to the general public on Friday, December 5, at the festival’s web site.
