If you’re in the Philly area, it might be a good idea to block off Saturday, May 6th on your calendar. The Electric Factory in Philadelphia just announced a truly absurd bill to kick off their seasonal outdoor concerts – Mastodon, Opeth, Gojira, Devin Townsend Project, Eagles of Death Metal, and Russian Circles, all on the same stage! EODM are the only ones that stand out as a little unusual in the mix, but a little variety never hurt anyone. This was originally a Gojira/Opeth bill that’s expanded to what’s basically one of the coolest summer fests you could ask for. There’s not much else to say. It’s way too good, and you’d be insane to miss it. Tickets are a cool $50 online. Go get ’em. Here’s what Brann Dailor says about the band’s return to Philly:
The Mastodudes and myself couldn’t be more excited to join forces with some of our best friends, and best bands on the planet for a missing link hard rock and heavy metal extravaganza in beautiful Philadelphia” says drummer Brann Dailor. “We don’t care if you like Pat’s OR Geno’s, come on down and help us worship the lord of riffs and bring a change of underpants, you’re going to need them!
