On Tuesday, Florida death metal giants Deicide announced via social media that they were pulling out of their upcoming spring tour with Exodus due to “scheduling conflicts.” The Swarm of Horror trek, set to begin on April 27, was announced earlier this month, and it didn’t take long for Possessed to step in as Deicide’s replacement, with Misfire still set to open each night.

Yesterday (19th), Exodus issued a brief statement:

“Welcome Possessed to the Swarm of Horror! They jumped on after Deicide had to pull off. We’ll see you in the pit with them and Misfire!!!”

While lineup changes are common when a band drops from a tour, something unusual stands out: Deicide’s social media accounts appear to have been wiped of all posts from after October 2024 to the present, including their cancellation announcement. Whether this is routine or a sign of something more, we hope all is well in the Deicide camp.
