Last year, Deftones’ frontman Chino Moreno announced plans form a new project with Isis alumni Aaron Harris (drums), Clifford Meyer (guitar/ keyboards) and Jeff Caxide (bass/ keyboards) called Palms. And today, we finally get our first taste of Palms self-titled debut, out on June 25 via Ipecac Recordings.

Right now, Pitchfork is streaming a song called “Patagonia.” In short, it’s definitely not for fans hoping for heavy sludge sounding music. Rather, it’s for fans who appreciate Deftones and Isis’ drone approach to music. Check out the song for yourself over at Pitchfork.

Palms also announced plans for a mini-California tour in July. Dates for Palms’ live debut, which go on sale later this week, can be seen after the jump.
