Canadian band KEN Mode keep the gears rolling towards the release of their new album Success by debuting a new track “Management Control” via SPIN. The trio have evolved a bit away from the hardcore that’s defined their career so far, branching out into a bit more of a noise-rock mode on the album, which was produced by Steve Albini.

Compared to the previous single “Blessed” this song has a more upbeat composition  with a brighter sound than the usual crunching and heavy approach they usually take. Front man Jesse Matthewson comments about the track:

“Management Control” is meant to be an embracing of the more melodic / indie rock side of our palate, drawing more from bands like the Pixies, Drive Like Jehu, Sonic Youth, and Failure than probably anything you’ve really heard from us before. It’s a reflection on life, art, and the inter-relationships that hold it all together.”
