After a late summer run with Pallbearer and Lucifer, High on Fire have accounced a quick, nine-date US tour in support of their latest album, Luminiferous. Starting in December, the band will be bringing along Crowbar along for a mostly south eastern run.
Matt Pike spoke to Loudwire in August about the climate of today’s metal scene:
“I have a good backup in case I fail, and if I don’t fail, I put a lot of personal feelings, feelings about this earth and a lot of feelings about how I see the human race going. I just believe a lot of people really need to wake up to the fact that their earth is crumbling around them and disease is not survived. It’s not sustenance. It’s poison. I just enjoy playing. I’m trying to convey about what I feel about all of that through playing with these amazing men, and touring and being as heavy as possible.”
Part of that touring mention above includes a European tour with Black Tusk and Bask next month before this just announced US tour. Their seventh album Luminiferous debuted at #48 back in June, selling 6,000 copies in its first week of release.
