There are a lot of people that are counting down the days until April, which is when Faith No More will be releasing their long-awaited new album, their first in 18 years. While you’d expect that the band will be touring in support of the new album, so far, the only dates they’ve announced so far are taking place pretty far away from the States. Next month and in March they’ll be in Australia at the Soundwave festival. They’re also playing in Italy at Sonisphere and at the Czech festival Rock for People in June. However, they’ve been confirmed for the Heavy Montreal festival, which will be taking place from August 7-9. It’s still not in America, but it’s definitely closer to home.
It looks like they’re the only act confirmed for the annual festival so far, but that’s a hell of a first act to announce. When Faith No More toured in 2010, they played sparingly, only doing 12 shows in North America. They did 50 shows in Europe, mostly festivals, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see them continue to do that in 2015, even with a new album to promote. In the meantime, let’s get psyched for the new album by listening to “Motherfucker” again, shall we?
