This year, Metal Blade Records turns 35, and while there’s already an anniversary tour in the works with Whitechapel, Cattle Decapitation, Goatwhore and Allegaeon that kicks off next month, that’s not the only Metal Blade pairing that’s hitting the road. In fact, a month after that tour ends in March, Goatwhore will be back on the road opening for label-mates Amon Amarth. It seems like a tour booked around Amon Amarth’s many festival appearances, and it’s actually really encouraging that Amon will be playing the Danny Winner fests alongside a lot more mainstream rock and metal bands. Anyone that’s witnessed AA’s stage show will be won over by it. It’s pretty much like going to Medieval Times, but without having to eat food, and with much better music.
Amon Amarth are excited about the tour:
“United States! We return to your lands this Spring and we will raid and plunder your little cities as we please. For the first time, we will be sailing our longships towards the curious native celebrations called ‘The Loudest Month’ (Welcome To Rockville, Northern Invasion, Carolina Rebellion, and Rock On The Range) where we will sack and burn them to the ground and feast on the spoils. Our good friends in the almighty Goatwhore will be joining us on this voyage on all headlining shows. You have been warned.”
Goatwhore’s Ben Falgoust also commented:
“We are looking forward to hitting the road with Amon Amart6h and playing some raw as fuck metal for you people. Show up with your anger and let’s make some chaos happen. I know you all need to vent some issues. Let’s do it together and crush the opposition.”
