amon-amarth-enslaved-2014Amon Amarth have enjoyed much success in the western hemisphere as of late, turning a larger geographical and general metal audience on to their viking power from their gig with Mayhem Festival over the summer and releasing their album Deceiver of the Gods in June. Riding that North American ship, they’ve announced a U.S. tour all their own slated for 2014 with Enslaved and Skeletonwitch lending support.

However, the Swedish death metal band, who have been on the scene since 1992, already readily embrace their international followers. Drummer Fredrik Andersson told Metal Insider in August that he doesn’t see a huge difference between audiences in North America and in Europe.

“I mean, metalheads are metalheads all over the world. It’s not really any difference,” he said. “People like to head bang, they like to do mosh pits, and everyone’s there to have fun.”

The tour kicks off January 17 at the House of Blues in Las Vegas and is set to wrap up February 16 at the House of Blues in San Diego. While 2014 may seem far away, with a bill like this, we are predicting tickets won’t last long. Get on it.
