While Rob Zombie’s insatiable love for roadsters has been documented in his music (“Black Sunshine” and “Dragula” come to mind) it will be documented on TV tomorrow when the History Channel airs a special Mayhem Festival edition of its series Counting Cars on July 16. The focal point of the History Channel series, Count’s Kustom Cars in Las Vegas, revamped Zombie’s 1967 Ford F-100 for the episode.

The finished automotive product will join Zombie on the Mayhem tour, beginning with the July 19 date in Camden, N.J. Mr. Zombie pulled double duty, filming for the show as he was preparing for the kickoff date of the festival in San Bernandino, Calif. Catch a preview of the footage above.

The Counting Cars series features the rebuilding of classic cars, showing before and after shots of the vehicles transformed by the Kustom Cars crew. The Zombie morphing took only seven days, a record for the crew.

Rob Zombie’s Mayhem headlining spot follows the April release of his latest album Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor on his own Zodiac Swan label. He unleashed his latest cinematic efforts with The Lords of Salem earlier this year and his “Great American Nightmare” interactive attraction will debut October 10 in Los Angeles, running through Halloween season to November 2.
