Metal By Numbers 4/8: Sales weigh a Gigaton

Posted by on April 8, 2020

Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.   At first, I wasn’t going to include Pearl Jam on here because, well, they’re not particularly metal. Coronavirus: Origin’s North American Tour w/ Beneath the Massacre, Defeated Sanity, etc. POSTPONED

Posted by on March 21, 2020

Despite making every effort to keep the tour afloat, Origin were forced to postpone their Occupation Domination North American tour with Beneath the Massacre, Defeated Sanity, Wake, and Torn the Fuck Apart. The group plan to have the trek rescheduled for the fall.

Read statements below:

Origin:

“Well, ladies and gentlemen we all knew it was coming. For the past week we have tried to hold on and bring Occupation Domination to as many of you as possible but it has become abundantly clear that for the safety of fans, crew and bands alike we have decided to formally end the tour and return home. As of now we are planning on POSTPONING Occupation Domination until the fall of 2020.

For all purchased tickets please contact your point of sale for details on refunds. Stay safe and healthy during this crazy time and we will see you all as soon as possible. If you wish to help the band out, as this has been a huge financial blow to Origin as well as for most touring musicians, you can support us by picking up merch at our indiemerch webpage and we will very soon be putting up exclusive items from this tour on our own bigcartel store. We will get through this together, take care of each other. From the last band standing, see you soon. Hail space”

Defeated Sanity:

“Unfortunately the Occupation Domination Tour has come to a premature close. Out of 30 scheduled shows we were able to play only 4. This leaves us with a ton of merchandise and heavy financial losses.

To recover some of these losses, we put ALL of our leftover merchandise up on the Bigcartel store.

We need your help and support now more than ever to ensure that this brutal train can keep rolling.

All items can be found at www.defeatedsanity.bigcartel.com. We also added a “tip” item in case you are able to pitch in a little extra.

This sale will only be shipping within the United States and Canada due to monstrous international shipping costs and hurdles.

We will pack and ship these orders ourselves tomorrow before we fly back home. The sale will therefore only be going until midnight on March 17 (EST).

Whatever is left after this we will try to get home to Germany and offer to our European folks.

We welcome any help and hope to be playing for you again very very soon!!”

Torn the Fuck Apart:

“Our tour with Origin was one of the last remaining tours out there, we lasted as long as we could and battled against the odds. If you missed us, here a clip of a few tunes.”
