Aaron Rossi, former drummer for Prong and Ministry, has passed away at the age of 44 following a sudden and severe heart attack. Though he died on January 27, the news was announced yesterday (6) via his official Facebook page, stating:
“It is with overwhelming sadness to share that on January 27, 2025, Aaron John Rossi passed away from a sudden, severe heart attack.
Aaron was a force with his own gravitational pull. His powerful energy instantly captured you. If you saw him on stage, you were blown away by his immense power, speed and agility – and if you were lucky enough to know him in person, you were equally taken by his kindness, humor and humility.
Aaron leaving us so soon is beyond devastating, but we know that he would not want to be remembered that way. He made us laugh and told us stories like it was his job. We sincerely hope you will share some of your own stories of Aaron in the comments.
There will be a Celebration of Life in the future and details will be shared as soon as possible.
Aaron’s talent on the drums and his ear for music was incomparable – and his sound will live on forever. He will always be The Shredder, The Beast, The Big Dog.
Rock In Peace, Aaron! We love and miss you!!!”
Rossi’s career spanned over a decade, performing with acts like John 5, Ankla, and Strife. His work with Prong in 2007 led to an invitation from Al Jourgensen to join Ministry as a touring drummer.
Prong and Ministry shared separate statements on their respected social media pages:
Prong:
“Rest In Peace Aaron “The Beast” Rossi This terrible news wasn’t supposed to come out the way it did ,but now it is and it’s just as terrible as when I found out weeks ago. We played together on and off for many years and he always came around with that BIG smile and that ferocious attack on the drums. We had so so many laughs together and crazy times. I’m glad we were on great terms until this untimely departure from this world. I hope to jam again with him in the afterlife. He was THE REAL DEAL!!!”
Ministry:
““Great drummer, Great human being, He will be missed.
Keep pounding that snare in the great beyond- A.J.
R.I.P. Aaron Rossi”
Our thoughts go out to Rossi’s family and friends during this difficult time.
