Mammoth has been a band on the rise since day one, and the latest album, The End, proves why success has been inevitable. Wolfgang Van Halen is a Grammy Award-nominated multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, vocalist, and producer, which sets him apart from so many others in the industry. With his own unique style and sound, he has earned a worldwide fanbase.
Starting in 2021 with Mammoth WVH, the album and singles soared to success, reaching #12 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on not one but 3 Billboard charts: Top Rock Album, Top Hard Rock Album, and Top Independent Album. The single “Distance” took flight and earned a Grammy award nomination for “Best Rock Song”.
Mammoth II, which dropped two years later, saw a rise in momentum, debuting at the Top 5 of the Billboard Top Album Sales and placing Mammoth back at #1 on the Top Hard Rock albums. Mammoth headed out on a solo tour but also found themselves alongside acts such as Metallica, Pantera, Foo Fighters, and Creed. The band was also busy with performances on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! and NBC’s TODAY, as well as the 2024 MusicCares “Person of the Year” benefit gala honoring Jon Bon Jovi.
Mammoth also joined Slash, Ryan Gosling, and Mark Ronson at the 2024 Academy Awards, performing “I’m just Ken” from the Barbie Movie. He took the stage with fellow rockers, Chad Smith ( Red Hot Chili Peppers), Robert Trujillo (Metallica), James Keenan (A Perfect Circle, Tool), and producer Andrew Watts for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction of Ozzy Osbourne. To say he was a huge part of the music scene is an understatement.
In late 2024, Wolfgang took a different perspective on how he went about recording music, moving from songwriting to back-to-back in real time. He went to 5150 Studios (Wolfgang’s studio, built by his late father, Eddie Van Halen, in Los Angeles) with producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette to start recording new music. Wolfgang deems “back-to-back in real time” a game-changer. We were making demos live, which I’ve never done. It was important to this record.” Wolfgang would often run from one instrument to another to record demos. He is a skilled musician with a variety of instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards, as well as his singing and songwriting abilities.
On October 24, 2025, The End will be released on BMG.
