A Perfect Circle has finally released their new album Eat The Elephant, which was a first in fourteen years. Technology has expanded tremendously since 2004’s Emotive as we have seen holograms on stage and can watch virtual reality music videos at home. While their triumphant return has already landed them on the #1 spot on Billboard’s Rock, Alternative, and Independent Albums’ charts, #2 on the Top Current Albums chart, and #3 debut on the Top 200, the group also had the ability to make the world’s first hologram album.
The band teamed up with Sundance award-winning filmmaker Steven Sebring (“Horses: Patti Smith and Her Band,” “Dream of Lif”) to create a special treatment to be part of their deluxe box set. The 58-minute hologram takes you through the eyes of a young girl over the course of the album as fans can place the prism on their smartphones and enter a special code to have the hologram experience.
Sebring commented:
“Having Maynard and Billy’s trust to create this for A Perfect Circle was a true artist’s dream, Their 14-year break allowed technology to catch up with their groundbreaking music and gave me the chance to apply new ideas of dimensional capture to this stunning album.”
