Some podcasts are starting to realize that as much as people enjoy listening to talk, they might want to bring something slightly different to the table. Relatively new podcast As The Story Grows, hosted by Unteachers members Travis Turner and Stephen Sarro is one of them. Last week, for the 25th anniversary of Megadeth’s clasic Rust In Peace, Turner got together with guests Bruce Fitzhugh (vocalist/guitarist of Living Sacrifice) and Alex Kenis, formerly of Becoming the Archetype, to bash out a pretty epic cover of the album’s opener, “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due.” Fitzhugh sang on the track, Turner played drums, and Kenis handled all the guitars and bass. It sounds thrashier and deathier than the original, partially due to Fitzhugh’s vocals, but it’s obvious how much the three dig Megadeth.

Here’s hoping that this leads to more collaborations between ATSG and their guests. If they keep doing that, the podcast could quickly become a must-listen If you’re interested in hearing the podcast about how the whole project came about, you can listen to that here.
