RATT was undeniably one of the biggest glam metal bands in the late 80s alongside Motley Crue, with their music standing the test of time and remaining in high demand some 35+ years later. While RATT has had many versions of the band over the last 20 years, original vocalist Stephen Pearcy and guitarist Warren DeMartini are back together touring as Pearcy | DeMartini and playing a full set of all your favorite RATT hits and the duo played a standing room only show at Grove of Anaheim on Saturday night August 30 with fellow 80’s alums Vixen opening the show.
As the fans slowly filled the venue, the buzz in the air hinted at a nostalgia-fueled evening ahead. Vixen is another band that has undergone many lineup changes over the years. Still, the current lineup, led by original drummer Roxy Petrucci, guitarist Britt Lightning, Julia Lage on bass, and the newest member, Rosa Laricchiuta, on vocals, is a finely tuned rock ‘n’ roll machine that delivers a super fun, high-energy performance.
These lovely ladies are obviously having a blast onstage with all the band interaction and smiles, and that adds to the electrifying performance. The band opened with “Rev it Up,“ and what an entertaining 60-minute set they delivered. The band jammed a medley of “Runnin’ with the Devil/Perfect Strangers“ and “War Pigs“ with a little drum solo thrown in, and the highlight of the set was their smash hit “Edge of a Broken Heart“ to end the show. WOW, what a way to begin the night, Vixen is a must-see band in 2025.

There was a tremendous amount of anticipation when Pearcy and DeMartini announced the reunion of their creative partnership early in 2025, and the fans were anxious to rock out to some authentic RATT n ROLL on this night. The band hit the stage and ripped into “Wanted Man“ and it was a truly fantastic experience to see Pearcy and DeMartini on stage together again. Pearcy has been touring as a solo artist for years, so he’s no stranger to the stage, and he sounds spot on. Hearing DeMartini blast out those riffs and solos with his iconic Charvel guitars was long overdue.
The band was somewhat of a supergroup as Carlos Cavazo (Quiet Riot) was on second guitar, Matt Thorne (Rough Cutt) on bass and Blas Elias (Slaughter) was bashing the drums. A killer lineup that opened a vault of timeless hits, “I Want A Woman”, Body Talk”, “You’re in Love”, “Way Cool Jr.”, the night was filled with nonstop singalongs and fist pumps.
Of course, the night ended with RATT’s massive hit “Round and Round“ that showcased one of DeMartini’s most scorching solos, and Pearcy finished the night as strong as he started. RATT’s legacy resonates extremely strongly through these classic songs, and for fans young and old, it was a reminder that actual rock n’ roll magic never fades. Pearcy | DeMartini, along with Vixen, proved that 80’s rock is alive and well in 2025.
