The last Faith No More album to be released before today’s Sol Invictus was 1997’s Album of the Year. They may as well have called the new one Comeback of the Year, as the band’s decision to not only come out with an album but to tour in support of his led to an initial tour that sold out faster than you could spell “Be aggressive.” A pair of shows at New York City’s Webster Hall sold out in almost no time as anticipation built as songs from the album started to be released. Many in the crowd were seeing the band for the first time, while others were excited to see one of their favorite bands from the ’90s back together. Photographer Melinda Oswandel went to both nights of the show and captured both Faith No More and opening act, Le Butcheretttes.
