You may recall when The Paramedic’s former drummer Tony Hovater was running for office on a white supremacist ticket. Now vocalist Mike Luciano has split with the band for his many opinions such as, “Dude gets his dick cut off and people call him a hero,” in regards to Caitlyn Jenner, and, “AP and Substream claim to be about music but they are tossing fire at bands. You need click bait on a slow day. You want to talk shit? Suck my chest nuts!”

Said the band via Facebook:

“As of late, there has been a lot of attention on Mike for some of his opinions and views that he has shared with the world. Although this wasn’t a problem for Mike, the rest of us in The Paramedic did have an issue with these things, as we do not share those views and opinions with him.
Everyone has the right to their own opinion, and freedom of speech is something that we all share. So, Mike is free to say whatever he wants, whenever he wants. The problem is that when you are in a band with 5 other people, whatever you say, and whatever people think about you kind of gets spilled over onto everyone else, regardless of their own views and opinions.”

Apparently the split with Luciano was mutual, as the band stated in the comments section:

I think a lot of people forgot to read the part that it was MUTUAL. Mike and the band both thought this was right. And it’s not that we are worried about offending anyone, we have pretty much proven that isn’t the case… There are just lines we are not comfortable crossing as a band. And I think that’s fair. Sorry to anyone this upsets. We totally understand. It’s just how things happened. And we love making music more than anything in this world. We’ll never stop. Just because there will be a new voice does not mean that any less passion will be put into this. And who knows… You might even like it”

The Paramedic were headlining the Music Over Matter tour, but didn’t play the last few shows. The statement above was the explanation for their missing appearances, with no word on who will take over  vocal duties.
