Prevention procedures have been implemented to avoid the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Presently, there are 96,953 confirmed cases, 3,310 deaths, and 53,982 recoveries. You may see more people wearing masks and know someone who has been forced to work from home due to the sudden scare. While there are currently 160 (and counting) cases of the widespread disease in the U.S, bands are starting to cancel tours and festival appearances in Europe and Asia. Trivium, Slipknot, Lacuna Coil, Whitesnake, and Sons Of Apollo have cancelled or postponed tours, including Slipknot’s first-ever Knotfest in Japan and Lacuna Coil, pulled out from their Download Festival appearance in both Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. We can only assume we will hear more cancellations as the virus continues to expand. For those who are interested in ways to prevent the coronavirus, you can read all about it here.
Slipknot:
“In light of global health concerns, Slipknot have decided to postpone their upcoming Asian tour, including Knotfest Japan. While decisions like this are not easy, the safety and well-being of the band’s fans always comes first. Furthermore in this case, the bands and artists, crew and local employees are also equally affected, and as such, this was the only responsible decision that could be made. Slipknot and Knotfest will both return to Asia very soon, and at such times that everyone can be ensured of the best possible experience possible.”

Sons Of Apollo:
“Sons Of Apollo are absolutely devastated to announce that we have no choice but to stop our currently ongoing tour in Europe, Russia and Ukraine and postpone the remaining concerts.
The CoronaVirus epidemic has escalated to a point where governments have decided to shut down venues, restrict events, limit flight destinations, with no certainty for us and our promoting partners and that our shows can be guaranteed to happen.
Obviously these European wide emergency precautions have been taken to protect the safety and health of all fans in attendance and artists and crew alike. We do agree that this is a time where health comes first and we will not endanger band & crew, nor fans.
Furthermore, on top of the potential health implications and obstacles, the economical impact and potential financial risk for a tour from overseas like ours has forced us, to take action to limit the possibility of devastating financial losses in such a force majeure situation.
Nobody is more disappointed than we are at this moment…
We are really looking forward to playing each and every show once the situation has cleared, as the momentum and excitement we experienced at our 2 sold out opening nights in Germany and our shows in Norway and Sweden have been by far the best the band has ever experienced!
We will ABSOLUTELY be rescheduling these dates as soon as it is safely possible to return. Details of honoring existing tickets and refunds will be announced locally. Procedures for existing VIP package holders will be announced on SOA website and our social media
Thank you for your understanding and we see you as soon as we possibly can!”
Lacuna Coil:
“ATTENTION SOUTH EAST ASIA‼️
We regret to inform our beloved fans of SouthEast Asia that due to circumstances beyond our control we must cancel our upcoming shows in Dubai, Bangkok, Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo, Osaka, Singapore and Jakarta. Our home region of Lombardy, Italy, is in the midst of a Coronavirus outbreak. While cancelling is heartbreaking for us, everyone’s health and safety must come first and this includes our fans. We’re confident this emergency will soon be contained and we can get back on the road to you. Thank you for your understanding and stay safe.
Ticket refunds are available for headline shows at points of purchase.”
