Renowned producer Dave Jerden, known for his work with Alice In Chains, Jane’s Addiction, and The Offspring, has passed away at 75. His daughter Michelle confirmed on social media this past Thursday (6th) that he died peacefully on Wednesday (5th) following years of declining health after a vascular stroke.
Jerden played a pivotal role in shaping 90s rock and metal, producing Alice In Chains’ Facelift and co-producing Dirt. He also worked on Jane’s Addiction’s Nothing’s Shocking, early Red Hot Chili Peppers albums, and The Offspring’s Ixnay on the Hombre and Americana. His production credits extended to Anthrax, Biohazard, Pitchshifter, and Stabbing Westward.
Michelle stated:
“Today I share the news of the passing of our Father Dave Jerden. He passed away yesterday the 5th of February, peacefully in his sleep. I have so much to say but the words are hard to come. He was The Best Father anyone could ask for. He was our world, and My Daddy Duck. He was such an inspiration to all of us. As I always said, He was The Man, The Myth, The Legend. His Memory will live on through his unwavering Love and Care as a Father, and his contribution to The Music Industry. You’ll always be with us Daddy Duck, never a moment without you.”
