According to the German news site, Deutsche Welle, Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann has been accused of assaulting a man at the Bayerischer Hof Luxury hotel bar in Munich, Germany on Saturday (8th). While the German industrial metal giants are currently on their massive European stadium tour, Lindemann is being accused of beating a 54-year-old man from Hamburg in a hotel bar as witnesses have said the man insulted him prior to the incident.

Witnesses told German media that the unidentified man insulted a female companion of Lindemann’s as he indirectly called her a prostitute. The woman, named Lana explained to Bild the following:

“He said to me in English, ‘I would pay double for you.'”

Lindemann asked the man if he called his friend a prostitute, and in her defense he demanded an apology. According to witnesses, instead of apologizing, the 54-year-old man reacted poorly by clenching his fists and more or less pointed the singer towards the door. Seeing such a crude response led Lindemann to make what could be considered a heroic move standing up for his friend by popping the guy in the face with his elbow resulting in a bloody nose and a possible broken jaw.

Following the incident, Lindemann’s former girlfriend, 29-year-old model Sophia Thomalla, defended the singer to Bild, stating:

“Till is the most polite person I know. I have no idea what happened to upset him. But if he snapped, his reaction was justified.”
