It’s safe to say that bassist/icon Nikki Sixx is a workaholic who continues to tackle multiple projects and outlets. For example, he recently announced his first-ever photography exhibit while celebrating the ten year anniversary of his memoir The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rockstar. The rock legend has decided to alter his always-busy schedule by stepping down as host of his nationally-syndicated Premiere Networks/iHeartRadio rock Radio programs, Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx, The Side Show Countdown with Nikki Sixx and The Side Show Classic with Nikki Sixx at the end of this year. His final broadcast will be December 31st, 2017.

The legend launched his radio program back in 2010 and interviewed countless guests including Sir Paul McCartney, Slash, Steven Tyler, Metallica, Stevie Nicks, Dolly Parton, Mike Tyson, director Cameron Crowe, Dr. Oz, and many more. Additionally, the program was used as a discovery tool, as Sixx has hand-selected up-and-coming artists including Awolnation, Greta Van Fleet, Nothing More, and more by debuting their music. Nestingdolls.co, an online store selling Matryoshka dolls, launched a line of dolls featuring Sixx and his most iconic radio show guests.

The bassist explained:

“I grew up discovering music on the radio. So to host my own show over the nearly eight years of Sixx Sense was beyond my wildest dreams. I could not have done it without my amazing team in the studio, or the guests, musicians, and listeners that brought the show to life. It’s been an inspirational journey and I’ll always be a fan of the medium, but it’s time to shift gears outside the realm of solely radio. I’m in the process of developing new and unique programming and ventures across multiple platforms. But I’m really gonna miss Sixx Sense.”

Sixx still has several new endeavors to explore in 2018 including his photography career, television opportunities, and the Broadway adaptation of his memoir. The book will also be re-released later this this month (24th) via Gallery Books/ Simon and Schuster and this special 10th Anniversary edition will feature new chapters and never-before seen photographs. The soundtrack will also be available on October 27th via Eleven Seven Music.

While he has much more in the works, the rocker has also joined the Canadian talent show The Launch, where he will mentor unsigned talent alongside Boy George, Shania Twain, Fergie, Alessia Cara, Julia Michaels, and Jennifer Nettles to work as experts in crafting a hit song on the new six-part series.
