Los Angeles County prosecutors have decided not to file charges against Marilyn Manson, real name Brian Warner, after four years of investigation into allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence. On Friday (24th), District Attorney Nathan Hochman stated the evidence was insufficient, and many allegations fell outside the statute of limitations.

Hochman stated:

“We have determined that allegations of domestic violence fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt. We recognize and applaud the courage and resilience of the women who came forward to make reports and share their experiences, and we thank them for their cooperation and patience with the investigation.”

Marilyn Manson’s attorney, Howard King, added:

“We are very pleased that, after a thorough and incredibly lengthy review of all of the actual evidence, the District Attorney has concluded what we knew and expressed from the start: Brian Warner is innocent.”

Evan Rachel Wood, who had previously accused Manson of abuse, responded to the decision on Instagram, stating:

“My lawyer and I were advised by the Deputy District Attorneys and the Sheriff deputies who investigated the case that there was compelling evidence to support our claims, but that the statute of limitations prevents many of those crimes from being prosecuted. We always knew that the statute of limitations would be a barrier, which is why we created the Phoenix Act so that other victims wouldn’t have to experience this outcome. Unfortunately, the Phoenix Act cannot help in cases which occurred before it was passed, but I hope this shines a light on why it’s so important to advocate for better laws.”

Earlier this month, Channel 4 premiered Marilyn Manson: Unmasked, a three-part documentary exploring Manson’s rise to fame, the abuse allegations against him, and the fallout. The series examines testimonies from survivors, including Wood. Before the case dismissal, Manson dropped his lawsuit against Wood in November 2024 to close the door on this chapter of his life.

Manson has been seen with Falling in Reverse vocalist Ronnie Radke, sparking speculation about a possible collaboration. Radke recently shared a photo with Manson on X, following multiple photos of the two that emerged following Manson’s 56th birthday. Regardless of rumors and hopeful speculations, Manson has announced a spring tour supporting the release of his 2024 album, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1, which was one of 2024’s Top-13 Chart-topping-metal debuts.
