Supergroup Down has announced a livestream event. Dubbed the NOLA Town Throwdown, the band will take the stage at the Fillmore in New Orleans, LA for the hometown in-person/online experience on Friday, August 13.

Said frontman Philip H. Anselmo about the event, “It’s gonna be great to play our hometown again! Always a blast!”

Adds guitarist Pepper Keenan, “‘NOLA Town Throwdown’ is a long time coming. Let’s do this and make it epic! Up the hammers!”

“Through the hard times and now for the good times, this is gonna be a very special show for everyone! We’re ready to turn it up and slam it DOWN!” comments bassist Pat Bruders.

Guitarist Kirk Windstein also expressed excitement, saying, “Playing on stage with my brothers in DOWN is always a special moment to me. We can’t wait to blow the roof off of The Fillmore! Being in NOLA takes this to a whole new level!”

“It’s been way too long, y’all! I can’t remember the last time we played NOLA,” adds drummer Jimmy Bower. “On Friday, August 13th we will play our hometown. A DOWN show y’all! Old friends, good times, and great tunes on a superstitious night! We’re ready to jam, are you?”

This is the band’s second livestream event. Back in August 2020, they played a special livestream celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album NOLA. The ‘Quarter Century Throwdown’ was their first live show together since playing Psycho Las Vegas in 2016 and the first to feature Windstein since his return to the fold in 2019.

Aside from NOLA Town Throwdown, Down is also scheduled to return to Psycho Las Vegas this year. The hard rock and metal festival takes place August 20 through 22.

Tickets for NOLA Town Throwdown go on sale Friday, July 9 at 10am central. In-person tickets can be purchased through Live Nation, while livestream tickets can be found through Down-Nola.com. Comedian Dave Hill will act as support for the show.
