While Metal Insider are working on a way to present a full list of shows and events that are cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, we continue to write the next wave of updates:

Devin Townsend has cancelled the remaining dates on his Empath Vol. 1 North American Tour:

“It is with immense disappointment that I have been put in the position to announce the postponement of the remaining dates on my Empath Vol. 1 North American Tour due to Corona Virus.

With the travel ban In effect from Europe and the consequent chaos that has brought to travel plans, as well as the increasing social unrest, combined with the fact that half of this crew is either European or from the UK, it put us in a tenuous position. Several of the dates have been cancelled by the state, and I suspect many more to come.

This is a postponement, not a cancellation. And your support has been tremendous thus far. The best it’s been in North America. Thank you and immense apologies to those who were looking forward to it.

Also, apologies to our fantastic crew and incredible band for the loss of income.

Thank you for your patience and sorry for the short notice. This came up overnight in a chaotic flurry of new information.

Much love, till next time

Dev”

Team Dev would very much appreciate your continued support by purchasing the leftover tour merch from Devin’s official webstore (www.omerch.com). Plenty of the shirts, CDs, LPs and items that were sold during the tour will soon become available, hopefully, next week already.”

Emperor announced that all Norwegian citizens are returning from international travel to be quarantined for 14 days, therefore the group has postponed their Moscow concert:

“Emperor hordes of Russia,

The Covid-19 virus is affecting us all in one way or another.

Norway’s government has recommended to avoid international travel at present time,

And all Norwegian citizens returning from international travel, will be quarantined at home for 14 days.

This makes flying in reality impossible for the band and crew, and we have no other option than postponing Emperor´s Moscow concert.

We have already rescheduled the show with the promoter, and will return on September 5.

Tickets will remain valid for the new date.

Apologies for any inconvenience, we´re looking forward to seeing you soon!

Through these excessive cancellations, there’s a bit of hope as Swallow the Sun announced their tour is still on, for now. However, Wheel are unable to join them:

“Regarding our upcoming headlining North American Tour…

THIS TOUR IS NOT CANCELLED…..but

It is with regret that Wheel will no longer be touring with us due to visa complications.

Swallow the Sun will continue on with Infected Rain. We’re also very aware of the current global viral pandemic and looming US restrictions. We’re a month and a week away, so until further notice, the show will go on. We look forward to seeing you soon.
