Trondheim’s venerable Terratur Possessions have announced that they will unleash the epic single “Gratias agamus domino infero deo nostro” by the emerging black metal supergroup Diabolus, mecum semperterne! on August 26. “Gratias agamus domino infero deo nostro” stands as a nearly 10-minute masterpiece — a paragon of Satanic Art. Pre-save “Gratias agamus domino infero deo nostro” HERE now! Beyond perfect, this awe-inspiring composition should leave audiences speechless. The full album from which “Gratias agamus domino infero deo nostro” hails is expected to arrive in February 2026.
Diabolus, mecum semperterne! consists of an all-star lineup that simply seems too amazing to exist, considering that it showcases four of the art form’s greatest sorcerers: The band features Manes’ ingenious pioneering hero Tor-Helge “Cernunnus” Skei on guitars, bass, and synths; Whoredom Rife’s K. Rambech on vocals; Mare and Djevel’s Spellemann / “Norwegian Grammy”-winning E. Blix on vocals; and, finally, B. Kråbøl of Misotheist, Enevelde, and the family project Kråbøl on drums. The ridiculously versatile and prolific Skei is my most highly recommended composer, while Mr. Blix and K.R remain two of the finest vocalists, and the young Kråbøl has arguably distinguished himself as the most exciting extreme metal talent of his generation — he is a sublime frontman, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter. These luminaries have been praised endlessly by sources like Loudwire, MetalSucks, Metal Injection, and Norway’s Scream.
Whether Manes’ black metal offerings, Manii’s output, Syning’s self-titled work, Mare’s Ebony Tower, or Djevel’s trilogy focusing on the night, the chthonic deities behind Diabolus, mecum semperterne! have crafted what have rightly been named as among the movement’s top achievements. Thus, it should not be at all surprising that, based on “Gratias agamus domino infero deo nostro,” I will venture to predict that Diabolus, mecum semperterne!’s debut will not only quite easily prove the black metal release of 2026 but one of the best records in the history of the genre.
On the majestic yet instantly incinerating “Gratias agamus domino infero deo nostro,” K.R slaughters listeners with his unfathomably intense vocal assaults. Blix provides transcendent chants and more, gorgeously complementing K.R’s artistry. These modern legends never cease to astound with their lethal authenticity, and, at times, the menacing vocals take on a trippy quality, as the diabolical team drags us into the mind-altering depths of darkness. Kråbøl likewise delivers an irreproachable performance. As the architect behind this Nidrosian cathedral of pain, Skei demonstrates yet again that the magic emanating from his soundscapes is unrivalled. The complicated “Gratias agamus domino infero deo nostro” will hopefully haunt you for the rest of your life, given that, as already mentioned, it is destined to become a classic.
It would be impossible to adequately explain the importance of Terratur Possessions and their founder, crowned gatekeeper Ole A. Aune; for they act as beaming and unassailable pillars of integrity in a scene that has become overrun by weakling degenerates, clowns, and propagators of mediocrity. No label has done more to spread top-notch underground art, eradicate posers, and abolish slavery to trends than Terratur Possessions. Thus, this unholy enterprise wins my vote for the most admirable label around. As many already know, Herr Aune, who conceived Terratur in 2007, is a co-organizer of Beyond the Gates, runs Caerimonia Nidrosiæ Festival, and has nobly worked to bring elite music enthusiasts other esteemed events.
Make sure to obsessively follow (and if you are an extrovert, perhaps even nag) Terratur Possessions for updates on Instagram, Facebook, Bandcamp, and their website.
