Tragedy has struck Amigo the Devil, the dark-folk artist also known as Danny Kiranos, who revealed via social media that he and his family lost their home and beloved family dog, Kobe, in a recent fire. In a heartfelt post titled “Everything is gone,” Kiranos shared images of the blaze and its aftermath, confirming that countless irreplaceable items were destroyed, including all of his original artwork, thousands of demos, and dozens of handwritten lyric books.

Kiranos expressed:

“Everything is gone.
I have both too many and too few words right now. I’m happy and grateful for all of our lives. I’m devastated for anyone who put love, effort and kindness into making this home what it was.
All the original Amigo art, dozens of hand written lyric books filled with songs that’ll never be, hard drives with thousands of demos throughout a lifetime and the backups of them, test pressings…the whole journey…gone.
I’m horrified for the irreplacable loss that Abbey is going through of her best friend, the best little dog that so many of you met this last tour, Kobe.
A lifetime of collecting is gone. Just, a museum level of a pieces that I feel I’ve failed history with. Family heirlooms, achievements, keepsakes are rubble.
Physical representations of this entire existence leave a life experienced to the degradation of memory and time now.
I have so much more to say but right now it’ll all be through the lens of this hopeless feeling.
We’re trying to stay positive.
We’re trying to stay hopeful.
I’m trying to forget I ever wrote a song called it’s all gone but at the same time the little jokes help here and there.
This was genuinely a night without mercy.”

Kiranos had just returned home from a U.S. tour earlier this month. Despite the loss, it appears he still plans to move forward with his upcoming tour dates in support of his 2024 album Yours Until the War Is Over. His next run begins June 27 in Eau Claire, WI, followed by international dates in New Zealand and Australia and festival appearances later this year.

A GoFundMe organized by Bob Arbuckle was launched to help the family recover from the tragedy. With a $100,000 goal, the campaign has already raised over $94,000 as of this writing. To support the fundraiser, visit the GoFundMe page here.

Arbuckle had this to say on the GoFundMe:

“I just received the gut-wrenching news that our beloved Amigo the Devil (Danny) lost his home in a devastating fire. Everything…everything is gone. That place was full of his life brimming with irreplaceable items like instruments, recording equipment, cherished art and a lifetime’s worth of collectibles and memories.
There is no way to possibly convey in words how tragic this is for our man. If you know him, whether that is through music or real life, you know he would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it without any bit of hesitation. Over the past decade or so, Danny has poured his entire being into building Amigo the Devil from the ground up, all the while staying true to his vision and never selling out. He’s not a flashy rockstar with endless resources, he’s a real artist who has always put the work first.
He’s spent the last four years investing every penny he had into building his dream home. In a single night, it was reduced to ashes. Just heartbreaking…
The good news is he does have insurance but the limits will not replace everything and his life long journey of building his art and collectibles will never be replaced along with all of the stuff that was his family’s and loved ones.
Danny would never, ever ask for help but I personally have witnessed how much he’s given to so many people over the years. I’ve seen the impact he’s had on our lives and us on him. That’s why I felt compelled to pull this GoFundMe together…so he can see the love and support he’s put into the world come back to him when he needs it most.
Positivity breeds positivity.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will help our fella begin to rebuild, support his loved ones and start recovering from this unimaginable loss.
Let’s show Danny what he means to us and what Fellowship is ALL about!
All the love”
