It’s that time of year when Metal Insider heads aboard70000tons of Metal. As we wrapped up ourArtist Spotlight highlighting each band from the 2025 voyage, a few updates have emerged for the 2026 edition, with just one day before boarding on Thursday (29th). With unusually cold temperatures sweeping across the entire United States, including Florida, it looks like this year’s cruise may be the coldest and windiest yet. Still, that won’t stop the 3,000 cruisers from setting sail.
All 61 of 61 bands have now been announced, with the latest additions including Leaves’ Eyes, Trick or Treat, Minipony, Strike Master, Trash Panda, Vitam Et Mortem, Them, and In Virtue. Due to the extreme and unseasonable weather conditions, the Skipper has confirmed a change to the itinerary, officially designating Day 2 as the port day, accompanied by the following announcement:
“Sailors! This is an important message from your Skipper. The Winter storm system that has affected most of the North American continent over the last few days will also affect 70000TONS OF METAL 2026. Forecast for Nassau predicts high winds for the coming Saturday and Sunday, making our port call on Saturday impossible. To make sure everybody can enjoy Nassau regardless, we are forced to change our itinerary and anticipate our port call in Nassau to Friday – For when the weather forecast is still decent. I know all of you are feverishly waiting for the Running Order to be released. Due to this itinerary change the entire work of all my team to create a perfect Running Order avoiding all possible conflicts of bands sharing crew and musicians has now been voided. My team and I will work throughout the night to create a new Running Order that I will present you as soon as humanly possible. Thank you for your understanding and I am looking forward to welcoming you on board#70000TONS OF METAL, The Original, The World’s Biggest Heavy#MetalCruise. your Skipper”
