The Darkness Release (Mostly) Animated Video For New Song

Posted by on February 1, 2012

When The Darkness announced plans for their first North American tour since breaking up in 2006, they also revealed that they would be putting the finishing touches on a new album. Well today, not only do we get to hear the UK rockers’ first song in six years, but we also get an animated video along with it. Created by artist Thom Lessner and director Ted Passon, the video for “Nothin’s Gonna Stop Us” does a great job showing off the humorous side we always loved about the band. And while it may not be as memorable as songs like “I Believe In A Thing Called Love” or “Growing On Me,” the new song is still pretty catchy and will definitely please long time fans.

It’s still not clear exactly when The Darkness will release their new album, but the free download their offering of “Nothin’s Gonna Stop Us” via their website will likely hold fans over till then. You can watch the video for The Darkness’ new song above. And what perfect timing for it to come out, as The Darkness’ North American tour kicks off tonight (February 1) in Toronto.
