Japanese heavy/power metal outfit Lovebites are gearing up for their new album, Electric Pentagram, which is scheduled to arrive on April 24th via Red River Entertainment/BFD. The follow-up to 2018’s Clockwork Immortality will hopefully be the record to introduce the quintet to the states fully. Today (5th), the band has teamed up with Metal Insider to premiere their new truculent single “Holy War.”

The group has already won the Best New Band award at Metal Hammer’s Golden God Awards, supported Dragonforce’s UK tour, and is considered one of the top bands leading in a new direction of metal. Musically, if you think you’re going to hear Babymetal, think again. Combine acts such as Angra, Edguy, Twilight Force, Dragonforce, and mix it with five powerful females, you have, Lovebites. For those who love all things power and speed, you do not want to miss this group.

Lovebites commented on their new song:

“This is the first song in the history of Lovebites that all of us wrote the lyrics together. In being involved as lyricists, we chose the track composed by Mao, a composer outside of the band but who has worked with us on all our albums so far. The lyrics are very straightforward with a message — ‘We fight the darkness and evil for Heavy Metal.’  It is a symphonic power metal song with emphasis on the strings.”
