Lately, Protest the Hero have had to concede to fans on the internet when it comes to the release of new material off their much anticipated fourth album Volition. Yesterday, the artwork for the album found its way online after a semi-successful, semi-failed preview app crashed. The app involved using “lenses” to view a small part of the image, that in conjunction with other fans reveals more of the image. But tech savvy fans managed to snag the completed (NSFW) image off the site, which features cyberpunk vultures having their way with a woman:
So yesterday’s album artwork experiment may not have gone as planned! We hope you still like the amazing Jeff Jordan painting we are very pleased to have as the actual album cover. It will appear beneath the Ocard cover on the digipak cd version, and it is the stand alone vinyl cover (it looks amazing that large). It also wont be bunged up with a logo (the logo will be a sticker – which you will quickly discard and forget about!).
So if you haven’t seen it yet, here she is. The artwork has been fitted into place on all of the pre orders involving the official vinyl release here
This cover paired with the blue swirl vinyl is going to be a very sharp combination indeed
Today, the fans win again. After a version of the new track “Drumhead Trial” leaked online after being ripped from a radio broadcast, Protest the Hero decided to release the studio version to save music-hungry fans from having to make judgments about a low quality radio rip. According to their Facebook:
Although it was not our initial intention to release this song next… we have put up an official copy of “Drumhead Trial” for you guys to hear.
We heard a bunch of terrible versions of this on youtube after it aired on radio in the US. If you had the misfortune of hearing one of these monstrosities – our sincerest.
Hopefully you can at least rip your heartless comments on a version that sounds a little better.I hope you are all happy – the people have won this round ha!

This song features our friend Kayla Howran ripping some vocals toward the end!
It also features Ron Jarzombek destroying Luke in a trade-off guitar solo!
Enjoy.

The new track sounds just as killer as “Clarity.” Check out the album art below
