metallica through the never 3dIt’s less than one month until Metallica Through the Never hits theaters, and the band is ramping up the promotion machine. Sure, they’ll be playing the Apollo Theater in a few weeks, and maybe even returning to Yankee Stadium the following evening. But in conjunction with the film, the band will also be releasing a soundtrack, which is essentially a live greatest hits album. If you think about it, they haven’t had a career-spanning live album since 1993’s Live Shit: Binge & Purge. The Metallica Through the Never soundtrack was recorded during  two sold-out shows last year at Edmonton’s Rexall Place and the Rogers Arena in Vancouver. It will be the first non-reissue released on the band’s own label Blackened Recordings.

Rolling Stone is streaming “Master of Puppets” but you  can check it out below. You can pre-order the album hereMetallica Through the Never will premiere in IMAX theaters on September 27th, with a wide release on October 4th.
