It’s less than one month until Metallica Through the Never hits theaters, and the band is ramping up the promotion machine. Sure, they’ll be playing the Apollo Theater in a few weeks, and maybe even returning to Yankee Stadium the following evening. But in conjunction with the film, the band will also be releasing a soundtrack, which is essentially a live greatest hits album. If you think about it, they haven’t had a career-spanning live album since 1993’s Live Shit: Binge & Purge. The Metallica Through the Never soundtrack was recorded during  two sold-out shows last year at Edmonton’s Rexall Place and the Rogers Arena in Vancouver. It will be the first non-reissue released on the band’s own label Blackened Recordings.
