Brooklyn instrumental trio Sannhet have been creating their brand of instrumental heaviness for about five years now. While their first album came out about two years ago, they’ve returned with Revisionist, which will be out via small San Francisco label The Flenser on March 3rd. If you’re unfamiliar with the band, think of the heaviness of Russian Circles with the post-rock soundscapiness (yeah, we just made that a word) of Explosions in the Sky.
Decibel has premiered the title track of the album, and it’s excellent. The song’s definitely got some black metal undertones, but without vocals, it’s more, well, epic. But at jsut a little over four minutes, it doesn’t wear out it’s welcome, leaving you wanting more.
Revisionist will be out on March 3rd on The Flenser, and can be preordered here.
