It’s been almost four years since Killswitch Engage put out an album. It’s been even longer since vocalist Jesse Leach sang on an album (just under 11 years). Now we can finally hear what his comeback album, Disarm the Descent, sounds like. Alternative Press is streaming the album now, one week in advance of its April 2 release. To us, it sounds like the album the band needed to make to keep from slipping into irrelevance. Of course a lot of the heavy lifting falls on Leach, and he delivers admirably, but this is a mostly heavy album that re-establishes the band.
In other news, the deluxe edition of the album will come with a half-hour documentary, titled New Awakening. Directed by Mike Pecci and Ian McFarland, it’s, of course, about the making of the album. The first installment, above, has the band talking about getting back with a new singer, even though he’s not mentioned in the first installment. Listen guys, we’re going to give away the ending: Jesse Leach rejoins Killswitch Engage!
