Godsmack have announced their overall eighth full-length effort, Lightning Up The Sky, will be released on February 24th, 2023 via BMG. To celebrate the album reveal, the group has released a brand new single, “You And I,” available on all streaming platforms. Co-produced by vocalist/guitarist Sully Erna and Andrew “Mudrock” Murdock (Avenged Sevenfold, Alice Cooper,” the follow-up to 2018’s When Legends Rise takes the group to a new level of storytelling as Erna explains:

“I like when a record takes you on a journey from front to back. I realized there’s a whole story here about one man’s journey, the ups, and downs. I believe it’s a story everyone will connect to, on a human level, because we’ve all gone through things in life.”

While the record explores obstacles in relationships, and the overall state of the world, it may also be the band’s final studio album as Erna has previously suggested.
