What’s better than a good doom song? A good doom song from a new band that you happen to know someone in. Philly’s Crypt Sermon features Enrique Sagarnaga as their drummer, who has a day job working for Season of Mist Records. The band’s five members have spent time in bands including Ashencult, Hivelords, Infiltrator, Tranchrot and Labyrinthine. Crypt Sermon’s debut full-lengtth, Out of the Garden, will be released on Dark Descent in the next few months, and today, the band premiered the title track on Guitar World.
If you like epic doom in the vein of Candlemass, the Dio years of Black Sabbath and Solitude Aeturnus, this will be right up your alley. The surprisingly shreddy solos took us by surprise, in the best way possible. If you like what you hear as much as we did, you can pre-order the album here.
