If you’re a fan of progressive metal, then you’re probably been looking forward to the latest album from The Contortionist. Their third full length, Language, will be their first with Mike Lessard, formerly of Last Chance to Reason. The first song to be released from it, “Language I: intuition,” shows off the somewhat new sound of the band. It’s a little less death metally and a lot more progressive, and a must-listen for fans of proggy metal along the lines of Between the Buried and Me (who the album’s producer, Jamie King, has also produced) and the music of Scale the Summit (whose former bassist Jordan Eberhardt is now playing in the band).
Language will be out on September 16th on eOne. You can pre-order it here.
