Born of Osiris album taking shape as guitarist works on EDM project

You may be familiar with Born of Osiris guitarist Lee McKinney through his work in Born of Osiris. Or perhaps through his dubstep remix of the band’s “Abstract Art.” Now he’s launched his own standalone electronic project, DIMIR. His debut EP, The Resurgence, will be released on iTunes and Beatport (which is basically iTunes for EDM) on May 19th via Crime Kitchen. However, fans of his band will be excited to know that the band’s working on their follow-up to last year’s Tomorrow We Die ∆live. In a post on his Instagram page, Lee offered the following update.

Hard at work on this new BOO record and am making huge progress. I do miss this already though! Europe, we’ll be there in just a couple weeks!

Getting back to his EDM project, the three-track DIMIR EP will feature three songs:

1 )The Resurgence
2) Thoughtseize
3) Detention Sphere

Here’s what the guitarist had to say about his new project:

“I’d say that this was the most interesting musical project I’ve ever had come to life. It was all written on flights to countries around the world for Born of Osiris tours. Most of the EP was written traveling through Australia, off the beaches of Pattaya in Thailand, and on whatever airline or flight came in between. I would put the bulk of the songs together with headphones and my laptop. Then I’d come home, head to my studio, lay down all guitar tracks/live instruments and mix it! Matt Simmers handled mastering (Terravita, The Crystal Method).”

If you liked Korn’s The Path of Totality (yeah, those people are out there), then you’ll definitely be interested in checking out DIMIR. If you’re interested, you can follow him on Facebook or Soundcloud.
