Back in June of 2010, we reported on devastating, earth crushing news: Static-X was taking a break while “sole creative force” Wayne Static focused on his side project Pighammer. The world wept, and prayed that Mr. Static would change his mind…ok, well that last part didn’t really happen. But there was confusion over whether Static-X was still together or not. However, though Mr. Static said he wanted to focus time on his new project with wife/ex-pornstar Tera Way, it looks like he kept true to his word in that the coffin is not entirely shut on Static-X.

Today it was confirmed that Static-X will be performing at this year’s Hellfest, which takes place June 17-19, 2011 in Clisson, France. Static-X will be joining bands like Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Kyuss Lives!, and many more on the final night of the festival, June 19. While it is unsure whether Wayne will be joined by guitarist Koichi Fukuda and drummer Nick Oshiro, it’s an almost sure thing that bassist Tony Campos is not, for he was the one person Wayne confirmed was no longer in the band. That is unless Tony, Wayne and wife Tera Way have kissed, made up, made out and had a threesome. Regardless, this festival appearance assures fans that Static-X will not be put to rest for good anytime soon.

We’ll keep you updated on whether more is confirmed regarding tour dates and if Tera Way will officially join Static-X and make them suck in a whole new way.
