FAITH NO MORESan Francisco - October 28, 2014Dustin Rabin Photography 2680Faith No More are about to hit the road on their first North American tour in five years, as they get set to release their first album in 18 years.  Excitement is running high, of course, both for their tour and for Sol Invictus, which will be out on May 19th. We’ve gotten to hear both “Motherfucker” and “Superhero” so far, and know that the single for the latter would be released for Record Store Day. We also knew that the b-side would be a remix of the song by Einstürzende Neubauten’s Alexander Hacke. Now, with Record Store Day happening, the band have shared the remix of the song.

It’s a pretty great interpretation of the song, sounding less industrial than one might expect from Einstürzende Neubauten. It’s percussive, and isolates Patton’s vocals to make the song sound a little more Middle Eastern. The guitars and bass are stripped out of the song, as are most of the drums. It’s experimental, but we like it.

In addition to sharing the remix, the band have also announced a pair of new dates in the UK: June 14 at O2 Academy in Glasgow and June 17 at The Roundhouse in London. These shows are in addition to their June 13th appearance at the Download Festival.
