Fans anxious for Skeletonwitch to record the follow up to 2009’s Breathing The Fire won’t have to wait much longer, since the band enter a Los Angeles studio yesterday to begin work on a new as-yet-untitled album. In addition to providing their first update from the studio, the black thrash metallers revealed that former Demiricous drummer Dustin Boltjes has officially joined the band.
Guitarist Scott Hedrick had the following to say:
“Waiting fucking sucks! So, after months of writing, it’s great to finally be in the studio tracking the new album. It’s not rocket science…it’s epic, it’s brutal, it’s fucking Skeletonwitch! We can’t wait for everyone to hear it. We’d also like to officially welcome aboard our newest member Dustin Boltjes. He’s a great fucking dude and an animal behind the kit. We couldn’t have found a better fit. Welcome aboard, brother!”
Boltjes replaces Derrick “Mullet Chad” Nau, who left the band back in March to pursue art school. You can check out Skeleton’s first official photo with their new drummer up top.
Skeletonwitch is currently one of the four bands Metal Sucks has confirmed for a mysterious Fall tour along with Chtonic and Devildriver (who is expected to be announced later today). Stay tuned to Metal Sucks to find out who else Skeletonwitch will be touring with soon.
