25) Solution .45
Status: Disbanded
First Studio Album: For Aeons Past (2010)
Last Studio Album: Nightmares in the Waking State: Part II (2016)
Years Active: 2007–2017 // 2019–2024
Reason: While some may debate they broke up in 2023, it was May 21, 2024, when the group made their official announcement, stating:
“Dear fans and followers, we’re sad to inform you all that we’ve reached the end of the line – Solution .45 is no more
We’ve dug deep trying to find that motivating and inspiring spark again, but unfortunately it’s just not there anymore. When we decided to get this ball rolling again back in early 2023 we thought we still had it in us and God knows we’ve tried to get on the right track these last 1,5 years, but no matter what direction we’ve steered, it has just felt forced, joyless and all for the wrong reasons. So after several new attempts, different starting points and countless meetings, we’ve mutually agreed on that’s it’s for the best putting this giant to rest, for good (which we actually did already back in December last year). There’s simply a time and place for everything and clearly, in hindsight, the time and place for S.45 is in the past. Our hearts and wills are evidently elsewhere these days and without those two ingredients in the mix, no matter how hard you try, the outcome will not be satisfactory or worthwhile to anyone. As sad as it might seem, calling it quits has actually been a relief for us, since trying to get this beast on its feet again has been more of an angst-ridden burden, rather than something inspiring and fun. All’s well that ends well! Then again, living in the age of comebacks and reunions, who knows what the future holds.
Thanks to each and everyone of you who have supported and backed Solution .45 in any way, since the start! Your dedication and devotion have made all the difference!
With that being said, we will wrap things up by re-releasing our debut album “For Aeons Past” as a limited 2LP splatter vinyl, through AFM Records. More news on this soon!

28) Twelve Foot Ninja
Status: Disbanded
First Studio Album: Silent Machine (2012)
Last Studio Album: Mutant Dreams and Face Transplants: An Acoustic Experience (2024)
Years Active: 2008–2024
Reason: Twelve Foot Ninja went on indefinite hiatus in 2022 following vocalist Nik Barker’s departure and plans for an acoustic album reworking their earlier material. The album Mutant Dreams & Face Transplants: An Acoustic Experience was released on July 11, 2024, accompanied by the band’s official announcement of their breakup.
“G’day everyone.
Our acoustic album is here! No f!@king around! (apart from all the f!@king around). Here it is: www.twelvefootninja.com
“Mutant Dreams and Face Transplants – An Acoustic Experience” comprises of 15 acoustofarkinphonic tracks including 12 TFN smash hits straight from the hit parade, and 3 new songs; peeled and washed, ready to bung into your minestrone ear mugs for some reflective time by the window.
This album is a few things…One of them is an album…Which you can purchase digitally (in full) and/or get yourself a limited edition vinyl from our new website: www.twelvefootninja.com (alternatively, you can listen to half of the album while you’re taking a shit on streaming services some time later on…More about that on our website).
The second thing this album is; a massive ‘thank you’ to all of our supporters; we’re truly grateful for all of you. Without support, this past 16 and a bit years would have just been us wondering where everyone is.
The third thing this album is; Twelve Foot Ninja’s parting offering to the insatiable Sarlacc of streams, and the self-erected altar of this industry’s avaricious appetite. AKA we’re calling it a day and have decided to jump on jet skis and piss off in all different directions. We’re all incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved with Twelve Foot Ninja, and we hope our music and videos continue to resonate and be discovered by audiences for many years to come.
Thank you again. You can keep up with us individually through our website.
– Twelve Foot Ninja

29) UFO
Status: Disbanded/Retired
First Studio Album: UFO 1 (1970)
Last Studio Album: The Salentino Cuts (2017)
Years Active: 1968–1983 // 1984–1989 // 1991–2024
Reason: While UFO technically concluded their run with a farewell tour in 2019, the official end came in April 2024 when vocalist Phil Mogg confirmed to Ultimate Classic Rock that the band was essentially done, stating:
“No, no. I think it’s come to a conclusion. We did that last U.K. tour in 2019, just before COVID. So that was kind of the end of it and the time was right.”
30) Un
Status: Disbanded
First Studio Album: The Tomb of All Things (2015)
Last Studio Album: Sentiment (2018) // Coltsblood / Un Split (2019)
Years Active: 2012 – 2024
Reason: Seattle funeral doom outfit Un have decided to call it a day in March 2024. Frontman Monte Mccleerly decided to part ways with everyone in the band to move on to a new project.
Mccleerly said the following on his personal Instagram in March 2024:
“Hi. In March I made the extremely difficult decision to part ways with my bandmates in Un – effectively ending the band. I wasn’t sure I would make a post like this, but for the sake of closure for all who were involved, I think it is necessary.
I’m sure some folks will have some questions, but all I will say here is that it was my decision alone, but I did not make it with any malice or ill-intent. Their contributions to the success of the band over the last 10+ years can never be understated and I will cherish this period of my life forever. It was just time.
For those who don’t already know, you can continue supporting Clayton and Alex in their current band @reburied_death. I’m sure David will eventually have a new project as well.
As for me, I will begin rehearsals with a new band next week, and I will share details about that as soon as is appropriate!
Thanks, see you when I see you. ”
