Paws, Pets & Metal is Metal Insider’s newest column on bands with pets, discovering who watches them on the road, and more. Get to know more about these metal furbabies. We caught up with Kilmore as they discussed taking their husky to a pet-friendly festival.

Tell us more about your pet(s) and their names?

Luna “The Bear” is our white Siberian Husky and has been a part of the family for over 7 years. She has the best personality and is always pleasant to people, dogs, and cats. Her favourite thing to do is go for long walks, eat, and be with the family.

Have you ever taken your pet on tour?

We have taken her to a pup-friendly music festival we played and she had a blast. She always says hi to everyone and has to get some pats in. She is also featured in a couple of our music videos. Since she is a white husky, she is very photogenic and works well as a wolf substitute.

Who looks after your pet while on the road?

My sister is her number 1 puppy sitter, she loves her aunt. She always looks forward to visiting with her and we never have to worry when she is there.

What’s your pet’s favorite song or album?

Luna’s favourite song is “And Justice for All” by Metallica. She really loves the guitar riffs.

How did you introduce your pet to metal?

Luna has been at all of Kilmore’s band practices, so she has been exposed to heavy music since she was a puppy. She has also hung out with us for countless nights of metal listening and has no issue falling asleep to loud music.

What animal charity means most to you?

For the release of our previous album (Call of the Void) we held a fundraiser at our album listening party for the SPCA and fundraised over $1000. The SPCA provides shelter and homes for so many animals in need. It is such an important charity that gives animals another chance at finding a happy home.
