We caught up with  Disorientation, the avant-garde metal duo from Montreal, Canada, who recently released their sophomore EP, Survival Mode. Marie-Claude opened up by remembering her late cat, Elsa who passed away during the spring. 

Tell us more about your pet(s) and their names? 

Daniel: I’m a cat person but for many years, I’m rarely at home so I don’t have any pets. 

Marie-Claude: I had a cat named Elsa who died this spring. She was 20 years old.

Have you ever taken your pet on tour? 

Marie-Claude: I don’t see how you can bring a cat on tour.

Who looks after your pet while on the road?

Marie-Claude: My neighbor came to visit Elsa 3 times a day when I had to go to other cities with the Growlers Choir. She spent some time with her and she was even able to get the medication she needed.

What’s your pet’s favorite song or album?

Marie-Claude: Elsa had a big ego and she thought she ran the universe. She had a soft spot for The Jingle Cats, but she was still convinced she was way above them.

How did you introduce your pet to metal?

Marie-Claude: Elsa listened to the music that was getting out of my speakers at home. She supported me a lot so she was on board with anything I would choose to put on.

What animal charity means most to you?

Marie-Claude: I don’t have a preference for any specific charity, I admire anybody who chooses to spend their time helping pets in distress.
