Lehighton, PA hard rockers Another Day Dawns recently premiered a music video for the song “Psycho,” which is taken from their new EP, A Different Life (order here). The group initially formed in 2010 as they started out by performing classic rock covers. However, things have changed over the years as they’ve progressed to creating original music. We caught up with vocalist Dakota Sean to discuss about the band’s overall evolvement, their new EP, and more.
When did you decide to separate yourself from being a classic rock cover band to writing original material?
It was about 2-3 years ago, we took writing originals seriously and started focusing on that rather than learning new covers.
Did you have original songs written during the beginning when you were still a cover band?
We did, but they weren’t really the style we are today. The more we wrote, the better the songs got.
For those who are unfamiliar can you describe your overall sound?
It’s kinda like an alternative/hard rock sound. A lot of “in your face” type style songs but also we have some really cool slower tunes on the EP that people like just as much.
What was the process like making the music video for “Psycho?”
It was really cool! This was the first time we were ever apart of something like this. We got to LA and it all happened within a 9 hour day and we are really proud of it. Props to Brian Cox and his crew (thumbs up).
What plans do you have for this year?
We will be hitting the road in June with a pretty well known band that we will be announcing shortly, so stay tuned. Also just plan on playing a lot this year.
With the new EP out, A Different Life, have you started working on a full-length album?
Not as of now, we are kinda just riding out the new EP and just playing songs off that for now. But we have started writing some new material that we plan to release later on.
Is there anything else you want to say or add?
