On July 1st, Every Time I Die’s seventh album, From Parts Unknown, will be released. Before that, however, frontman Keith Buckley stopped by Metal Insider‘s Weehawken headquarters to chat about the new album. In the first part of a two-part interview, he opens up about the album title, working with Kurt Ballou, and why The Gaslight Anthem singer Brian Fallon got a gift basket for appearing on the album while Coalesce vocalist Sean Ingram didn’t.

Fun fact: the setting of the interview is the former site of The Machine Shop, which is where Every Time I Die recorded Gutter Phenomenon.

While From Parts Unknown isn’t released yet, it’s streaming here. We do have a signed copy of the band’s last album, 2012’s Ex Lives, to give away. Just fill out the form below to be entered to win. We’ll pick a winner at random on Friday, June 27th.
